- Lighting is more important than the camera actually.

- Natural light can often be the best ✔️(but timing and consistency is not always in your favour). Face a window and pick that time of day where things light you up the best. Never put your back to the window otherwise you will silhouette out.

- I used to use 2 regular desk lights pointed at my face from the right and left. (This is before ring lights etc.) This was virtually free, easy but a little messy on my desk. But I used this for years.

- Next I used Photo Light Boxes that I had for filming cooking videos in my kitchen. These worked great to create soft light without staring into a bulb but they were huge and took up a lot of space in the room.

- Next I used a NEEWER Diva Ring Light - I don't have it easily accessible at the moment so don't have the model number but it sat on a tripod but really worked best for PHONES that could be mounted in the middle. If you are filming on your desktop computer instead of your phone ... then the light will be by the side. So you will have a shadow on one side of your face. So what I did was then put the Ring Light on one side and my old standby desk lamp with light facing on me on the other side.

- Currently I have an Elgato Key Light. Just above my computer (and I also have a second one to the left of my desk, just the way my computer is configured and to work around overhead pot lights). This was recommended by my YouTuber son who has now 300K subscribers and does a ton of videos. He uses just one of these lights.)

There are since a ton of lights on the market and they are very easily accessible. Any and all of these can work. Find one that suits your location, needs and budget. 🥰
