You want to be clear on your business model and why you are doing this and then that helps you know what you should charge.
I don't recommend 'charging clients by sessions' whether it is group or 1:1.
So it depends on the situation. As your form of income - don't. It won't work. If it is not going to deliver them from ICP to DCT, it is not your signature program and then I generally do all of that for free. ie. Give my books away, video trainings, workshops etc.
HOWEVER, if this is an AWARENESS STRATEGY that will LEAD to actual Calls with potential actual Clients ... Then I am all over that!! ❤️💯🙌🎉🚀🚀 Which is why you would happily do it for free (or even in the case of FB ads for example, pay for the privilege of getting in front of your ideal client audience).
BUT depends on the scenario.
So if you are doing a workshop series for example (as an awareness strategy in front of a perfect audience for your niche) ... and since you are TEACHING CLASSES, they expect to pay you to teach people. That is normal. They would not expect you to do that for free. So then it depends.
Yesterday I answered 2 similar questions in question board and this is yet another variation on this theme. I tagged you in my video reply to Karen Mitchell.
But basically ask them:
“I’m happy to work within your budget. What did you have in mind?”
There is more than one right answer and the amount can vary between $50 - $5000. You don't want to say a number too high for their budget and lose the gig (because you would've done it for free). But you don't want to be paid way less than others because they won't value your information.
For example, I have done free talks and talks for $10,000.
I've done community club talks and talks for small businesses for $100 - $200
I've done talks for bigger conferences for banks for example for $1000 for a 1 hour presentation. (Similar talk at a radiology conference for free)
It depends if the participants are paying. I charged $25/ class for a community club series or 4 for $75 ... and then gave a cut to the organizers.
It depends on the culture and circumstance ... BUT I would do ALL of them for FREE because paid speaker is not my business model.
But if I can get in front of another person's audience and INCREASE AWARENESS and have that gig LEAD to a LEAD MAGNET (Free 5 day challenge/ starter kit) or directly to a CALL, I will do it! ❤️💯
Because coaching clients to excellent results IS my business model.
But how much you charge does not matter. That is why that phrase
“I’m happy to work within your budget. What did you have in mind?”
is my favourite line in this situation. You want to go with the 'going rate' for the situation, culture, circumstance.
But remember ALL WE ARE EVER TRYING TO DO IS JUST GET PEOPLE TO HOP ON A CALL.
The only reason to do this is if at some point people will ask questions during .. or if it is a series ... at the end ... and somehow someway it has at least the potential of people being on a Call #1 with you. THAT is what you want. The person who books the most calls has the most clients and has the greatest impact.😊
