What will be your CTA from this "VSL" ?

Step 1: Do your VSL/workshop hybrid

- a 'true" VSL (the 18 modules version) is more hard core driving them to book a call to work with you for 90 days in your program. Direct CTA is "book a call"

- the "hybrid/ workshop" version that gets you over 80 %  there with less than 20 % of the time is the way we leveraged Grace's workshop. CTA is to join free 5 day challenge (which then secondarily has them book a call)

Both are right answers but it depends on where you are at and your numbers. But you wouldn't want to post an evergreen link to a hybrid version and drive people to a 5 day challenge that is over. But also no one is really going to join your challenge or book a call just because you post a link.

There is crossover between these 2 presentations and you can choose "an alternate ending" for different purposes. (clone your slides and change the CTA)

Step 2: Ideally leverage by using VSL/workshop drive traffic to next 5 day challenge as this has been leading to most call #1s

- best way to leverage is to book call #1s >>> clients


Step 3: Repurpose VSL that has PROVEN to convert to calls to clients such that you know your numbers ( often from giving additional live workshops and tracking numbers) ...

Then you would put this on a landing page as a lead magnet and create a FUNNEL behind it.


- without an OPT IN - you won't know who saw it
- without THANK YOU video - there is no encouragement to actually book a call (unlike when it is live and they do that on the zoom in the chat)
- without a LANDING PAGE there is no easy button to book a call
- without a FOLLOW UP EMAIL AUTORESPONDER sequence you are missing out on prospects that didn't book in the first moment

- in short, the reason we don't just post the 5 day challenge videos online instead of having them register and opt in to the funnel, is they would not book a call and we don't actually have a lead magnet.

- This is why we do funnels. Since we did the work of the first 2 funnels for people they don't necessarily realize the critical role that plays in actually having people book the call.

- This is all doable and you can add a PROVEN VSL to your website ... but you will want to direct traffic to the funnel behind it so that it actually leads to booked calls. ✅

HOWEVER, what you could do is invite EVERYONE ( email, FB, IG etc.) to your next LIVE WORKSHOP(vsl) ... record it (your best version) and post link to book a call live in zoom chat. You COULD send the recording to those who either registered (eventbrite or FB event or verbally/digitally told you they wanted to come ) ... and then THESE people that you do know watched it ... COULD book a call. 


But to clarify - 

  • the value of a 9 word email is that there is NOTHING else in it. Otherwise it will NOT work. It is deliberately short and begs them to reply "Ya. why?" 

  • Just posting a link to it on your FB/ IG/website will not lead to booked calls (but wouldn't that be awesome if it actually did? Gosh, life would be so much easier if we could just post a link to our calendar even and people would just book it. BUT I have not seen that ever be the case. I had a link to my calendar on FB and on my website for YEARS and not one person ever booked.(unless I told them to go use that link to book after speaking with them) Now it is possible that you could have SUCH a wowsa VSL (more like the 18 module version) that people would be climbing over everyone to get to you and  would book a call ,... but even still without urgency or scarcity (if it is just posted on sites, you are definitely missing these powerful factors) this is not being leveraged. 

  • Do not spend "a little" on advertising. Better to just have a nice dinner. Boosting posts has never led to a call or client in my experience or anyone I have ever worked with or connected with. 


Best to do the VSL - test it. Optimize it. Know your numbers.

Once you have optimized so that you know exactly how many calls and how many clients you get when X number of people register for that VSL ... until then, do not spend a penny on any advertising. You must know your numbers. And boosting does not work. You want a coordinated plan. I have not seen 'spending a little' on advertising ever work. I have seen spending a ton on advertising work extremely well .. but you want to make sure what you are driving traffic to is a proven winner and you know your numbers.
